terms

the agreement

Last updated September 15, 2026. If you invite owaua, talk to it, or keep it in a server, you agree to this. It is written like a person on purpose. It still counts.

what this covers

This is the agreement for the official owaua Discord bot — the app you invite from this site, client id 1442127404607737999. The website and the owaua Discord server sit with the same person.

Discord has its own terms, and you have to follow those too. If you run a copy of the code yourself, you are the operator of that copy. These terms are for the official bot.

who can use it

You need a Discord account, and you need to be old enough for Discord. That means 13 or older. Please don’t use the bot if you are under 13.

If you add it to a server, you are saying you have permission to do that, and that people in the server may be talking to a bot that stores recent chat.

what the bot is

owaua is a hangout companion. You ping it in a server, and DMs work only when the operator has turned them on. It can switch between rudeish / nerdish / explicit voices, answer in a chosen language, play bounded YouTube or uploaded audio in a voice channel, and remember up to 20 records per channel + user. Normal hangout mode is text-only. Commands start with !. There are no slash commands.

It is not a person. It is not a moderator you can lean on. It is not advice. It can be wrong, confident, and still wrong. It is instructed to hang out, not to help.

talking to it

Messages you send to the bot — usually pings, and DMs only when enabled — can be stored locally. Up to 20 records for that channel + user can go back to the model, with a seven-day expiry. !memory erase mine removes your own history.

Please don’t send passwords, tokens, private keys, or anything you would not want saved. Someone with Manage Server can run !memory erase for that server. DMs are not wiped by that command.

There are layered request ceilings: 12 global attempts per minute, 30 per user per day, 100 per server per day, 200 total per day, and 1,000 lifetime attempts. Hitting one is not a ban. Trying to break it, using the bot to spam a channel, or burning API credits on junk is.

More on storage is in the privacy policy.

please don’t burn the API

owaua is a hangout bot. Every reply costs real money. You do not get a free model, a homework mill, a benchmark harness, or a toy for wasting tokens.

This part is strict. Using it for junk that burns API credits — instead of hanging out — is abuse. No debate. “I was just testing” does not count.

That includes looping it, farming it, pinging it for nothing, dumping huge pastes, encode-and-decode junk, jailbreak marathons, making it generate walls of filler, running scripts or extra accounts at it, and turning on expensive modes then spamming search, tools, or long thinking on garbage.

We can ignore you, wipe memory, pull the bot from the server, and stop answering you with no warning. The rate limit is not a free pass to keep doing it.

if you run a server

If you own or moderate a server with owaua in it, you are responsible for how it is used there. That includes !language, !persona, !music, and !memory erase.

There is no nuke, kick, ban, or other moderation command. Language is server-wide, not per user. The explicit persona is refused outside age-restricted channels.

Please don’t use the bot to harass people, raid, spam, or dodge Discord’s rules.

please don’t

Don’t use owaua to:

We can ignore messages, reset memory, pull the bot from a server, or stop answering you.

what it says

Replies are generated. They can be biased, outdated, or just false. Please don’t treat them as medical, legal, financial, or crisis help. If you need a human, talk to a human.

If a first-person self-harm message looks like current risk and not a joke, the bot may send emergency-services text instead of a generated reply. That is not a substitute for calling local emergency services.

You are responsible for what you do with an answer. If you paste it somewhere, that is on you.

the official bot vs running it yourself

If you self-host, you are responsible for your tokens, your SQLite file, your users, and your own terms. The official bot is the one invited from this site.

We can change features, limits, models, and availability. We can shut the official bot off.

other services

owaua runs on Discord and talks to model providers. Music uses yt-dlp against YouTube. Their terms apply to what passes through them. We are not Discord, and we are not those vendors.

Partnerships listed on this site are separate projects. They have their own services and policies.

no warranty

The bot is provided as is. We do not promise it will be up, correct, or a good fit for your server. To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for what the bot says, stores, deletes, or fails to do — including lost messages, bad advice, or a command that did something you did not want.

If a place you live does not allow some of that, those parts do not apply there. The rest still does.

if this page changes

If this page changes, the new text applies once it is up. The date at the top is when that happened. Keeping the bot after that is agreement to the new terms.
